Our company is dedicated to the commitment and persistence of stressing to both youth and adults, the importance of strengthening the performing arts in our communities. Through the presentation of play productions, films, workshops, and masterclasses, and African dance works. Our company aims to transfuse its theoretical theatrical elements into the core subjects of educational curriculums.
PROGRAMMING

WORKSHOPS /RESIDENCIES
Theatre Arts & Stage Love
Combines a series of performing art styles in acting, writing, dance, and music to create an in-depth arts-based learning experience for the participant. Individuals will actively employ creative writing skills, acting skills and rhythmic movement in order to free their imagination and raise self confidence. Students will develop their own dramatic moments dealing with subject matter from their own personal experiences and the world around them.
West African Dance & Drumming
Participants will learn about African cultures through the teaching and application of traditional West African movements. In an effort to develop a better appreciation of the beauty of West Africa’s rich culture. Sessions will combine West African music, song, and dance, in order to prepare the participant for a formal showcase at the completion of the residency.

Monologue Development for the Stage
The Art of Going Solo
Students will learn how to dissect, break down and develop a monologue for live stage performance. Classes are part lecture/discussion (more shared discussion than lecture), topic-oriented games/digital engagement, and the utilization of online video related clips that assist in further topic understanding. Participants are encouraged to choose their own monologues for development; either self-written or from published works.

West African Drumming
Djembe & Dundun Skills
Students will learn traditional West African techniques and rhythms of the djembe orchestra. Emphasis will be given on teaching the learner the foundations of proper hand placement in order to properly development their knowledge, respect, and skill for the rhythms. Information will be provided about the history of West African culture and how it relates to the djembe and dundun drums. Learners can be experienced drummers or have had no experience at all.
